Its name come from the words ‘’oros’’, which means mountain and ‘’ganos’’, which means joy or pleasure, which together means ‘’joy ofthe mountains’’.
It is used in cooking as well as for medical and pharmacological properties. It gives flavor and aroma to grilled meats, soups, salads, potatoes, feta with a little olive oil.
